The Nursery and Reception departments form the platform for our school. Most students move from the Foundation Stage to the Primary section, and those that do have the necessary skills and independence needed to enter the next phase of their education. The emphasis is on fun, interactive learning where children are allowed to be children. Children in this section have the added benefit of being able to interact with the older students and learn from them by watching how they act in the school. A new purpose-built Foundation Block was constructed for this important section of the school.
MIS also runs a day-care centre for children aged between 2 and 3. Children are helped to develop socially by coming into contact with other children of their age. Similar activities as those found in the reception and nursery classes are conducted (singing, games, art) so that children are introduced to more formal learning should they later move into the nursery class.
