Morogoro International School

A small friendly school with modern resources and excellence as its aim

As an international school it is important that MIS engenders an understanding amongst its students of their place and role in an international community. The partnerships we are making with schools in the UK are one way in which we will achieve this. We are, for example, receiving visitors at MIS from some of these schools who are able to provide insight into their different cultures. Volunteers from a university in Finland are continuing to develop the “Face-to-Face” project, a scheme which enables students here and in Finland to discuss issues with each other via the internet. We aim to develop this project further by introducing a student internet networking site which was created purely for projects such as this.

MIS is a member of the Global Gateway, a British Council scheme, which gives schools around the world the opportunity to work together to develop international links. Various plans are in place for the next academic year to continue developing these links. Themed international days (such as the International Food Fair) are run during the school year in order to highlight the global community that is present at MIS.
