Being away from home can be quite a change in a young adult’s life therefore we try to emphasize a sense of family and community and try to offer active weekends. In the past we have had weekend trips to game parks, Dar es Salaam, Iringa and hikes in the Uzungwas or the Uluguru Mountains. Every now and then we arrange weekends with other schools, friendly or competitive, which have initiated many interschool friendships amongst students. Weekends at MIS also include learning activities such as music workshops, art workshops or ICT activities as well as introductions to acrobatics and karate.
