Morogoro is a growing town at the foot of the spectacular Uluguru Mountains. At 500m above sea level, it is just 200km from Dar es Salaam and the coast. Morogoro International School is located just off the main Dodoma Road near the junction with the main Dar es Salaam/Iringa Road. The school is non-profit making and was established in the 1970s at Sokoine University, moving to its present site in 1991.
MIS encourages a friendly, family atmosphere where children are happy, involved and motivated to do well. Professional, enthusiastic and committed staff work hard to provide high academic standards amidst a range of enrichment activities which help the students to develop their talents and abilities, equipping them with the skills they need to join our rapidly changing world. The school is non-denominational and welcomes children of every creed, providing an environment where discussions of values and beliefs can take place in an appreciative and non-threatening way, and where international awareness is engendered alongside an appreciation of local cultures. Students are encouraged to make a contribution to the local and international communities of which they are part.
At MIS we see teaching and learning as a process of co-operative teamwork. Staff work together to develop and improve their own particular areas and to implement new and up-to-date strategies which drive the school forwards in its pursuit of excellence. We welcome and encourage the involvement of parents and others fostering and promoting good relationships and a sense of belonging to the school community.
